Life has been a roller coaster since 1972. I had some success in college. I received an athletic scholarship to Eastern Kentucky Univ. in Richmond, Ky. Was a member of two school record relays - indoor dist. medley and outdor 4-1 mile relay which was set in 1974. I went down to EKU 3 summer's ago and I was surprised to find that it still was a record. Individually, I held the 1000yd. indoor record and the outdoor mile - 4:06:5, set in 1975. I joined Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity in college also. Needless to say, there were many lost weekends and brain cell destruction aplenty. I also had some success on the roads during and after college. 2 highlights were when we set a state record in the 24hr. relay in Glen Ellyn during the summer of 74? I had the fastest per mile split of all runners at 5:03 for 27 miles run. Also, in 1990 at 36 years old, I ran a 2:43:08 Chicago Marathon. Many of us became re-acquianted on the roads after college. I still value all those experiences that we all had together. Knee's, age and working construction during the summers have taken their toll on me. I no longer able to run the way I would like, but I am still in good shape from lifting and doing health club cardio. I did career change 3 years ago and became a teacher in School District 148 in Dolton/Riverdale. I love my job and have visons of being a principal or administrator in the future. I guess I could go on, but I don't want to continue to bore everyone.
